
Demia Wilburn is the founder of The Wilburn Law Firm. She has more than ten years of experience working with consumer and business debtors seeking bankruptcy protection. She gained significant experience assisting with top-tier, debtor-side representation in large Chapter 11 cases, such as In re Enron Corp. and In re Northwest Airlines Corp., at one of the country's most prestigious law firms. Prior to starting her own law firm, Ms. Wilburn gained experience in securities law by working in-house at the second largest global financial services firm. While there, she worked with the legal teams in litigation, compliance, and institutional securities to draft compliance materials for proprietary products and conduct internal investigations. She continued her work in securities litigation by consulting Top 100 law firms during the discovery phase of litigation to analyze key evidence in actions alleging fraud, market manipulation, or misrepresentation in connection with a sale of securities. She also extensively researched issues involving securities and bankruptcy law.
Ms. Wilburn's experience includes advising entrepreneurs on bankruptcy, taxation, and matters concerning derivative products. She continues to focus her practice in the areas of consumer and business bankruptcy, consumer protection, business or commercial law, and securities law.
